The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) conducted an awareness workshop entitled “The Reality of Displaced Women in Displacement Camps and the Beginning of the Recovery Phase” at Palestine Camp in the Al-Bassa area of Deir Al-Balah, with the participation of 33 displaced women.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the humanitarian, social, and psychological challenges faced by women living in displacement camps, while raising their awareness of the importance of psychological and social recovery and restoring their ability to adapt to the difficult conditions imposed by the war of genocide and displacement.
The workshop addressed the reality of displaced women and the psychological, economic, and social pressures they endure as a result of losing stability and security. It also discussed the importance of psychological and community support in helping women overcome the effects of trauma and crises and gradually transition toward the recovery phase.
The workshop further highlighted the role of women in strengthening family resilience and preserving social cohesion within displacement camps. In addition, several mechanisms and skills that can help women cope with daily challenges and create a safer and more stable environment for their families were presented.
The workshop witnessed significant engagement from the participants, who shared their personal experiences and the challenges they face. They also exchanged views on ways to strengthen mutual support among women within the camps, contributing to the improvement of their psychological and social well-being.
This activity comes as part of the ongoing efforts of the International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (ICSPR) to empower women and strengthen their resilience in the face of the impacts of war and displacement, while raising community awareness of issues affecting women and displaced families, thereby contributing to the protection of their rights and enhancing opportunities for recovery and dignified living.
