ICSPR: Ongoing Violations of the Ceasefire Agreement by the Occupation Threaten to Destabilize the Situation and Require a Firm Response from Mediators

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) is deeply concerned about the continued violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli occupation. According to available data, on the morning of Sunday, February 16, 2025, Israeli occupation forces targeted a group of police officers securing humanitarian aid in the Al-Shawka area, east of Rafah. This attack resulted in the martyrdom of three police officers following a strike carried out by an Israeli drone—another deliberate breach of the truce and a continuation of indiscriminate shootings that have killed and injured civilians without any of them posing a threat to Israeli soldiers.

Furthermore, the occupation authorities continue to obstruct the implementation of the agreement by refusing to allow the entry of mobile homes and heavy equipment, which were agreed upon as part of the ceasefire terms. In this context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explicitly announced today his refusal to allow these essential supplies into the Gaza Strip, despite assurances and guarantees from mediators that they would be delivered by the end of last week as part of the ongoing prisoner exchange process. Additionally, the occupation continues to delay the release of travel lists for patients and the injured while reducing the number of humanitarian aid trucks entering the Strip by half. This reflects its relentless pursuit of genocide through systematic restrictions on humanitarian conditions, obstruction of relief efforts, and the disruption of essential service and healthcare sectors, exacerbating the suffering of civilians.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the escalating violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli occupation. These breaches reveal clear intentions by war criminal Netanyahu and the Israeli government to derail the agreement, obstruct prisoner exchange efforts, and push for renewed aggression, leading to further crimes against civilians. Accordingly, ICSPR demands the following:

•ICSPR: Warns of the catastrophic consequences of these violations on the already deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza, calling for immediate and decisive intervention by mediators to ensure the full and unconditional implementation of the agreement.

•ICSPR: Calls on the international community to exert serious pressure on the Israeli occupation to halt its repeated attacks in recent days.

•ICSPR: Urges mediators and guarantors to fulfill their responsibilities by compelling the occupation to comply with its commitments, cease its recurrent violations of the ceasefire agreement, swiftly implement all provisions of the humanitarian protocol, and immediately initiate negotiations for the second phase of the agreement.

End.
