During a Press Conference in Deir al-Balah: The International Commission (Hashd) Warns of Genocide in Gaza and Calls for the Protection of Civilians and Provision of Humanitarian Aid
The International Commission to Support Palestinian People’s Rights (Hashd) held a press conference today, Monday, in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, to warn about the ongoing genocide committed by Israeli occupation forces.
The conference issued a stern warning about the occupation’s attempts to depopulate northern Gaza through forced displacement amid continuous bombardments targeting homes, gatherings of displaced persons, and tents.
The conference addressed the crimes committed by the occupation forces since the war began on October 7, 2023. The number of massacres carried out by the occupation has reached “3,695” to date, resulting in over “42,400” deaths, including “17,029” children and “11,585” women. More than “100,000” people have been injured, with “12,000” urgently needing treatment abroad amid a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies.
The Commission emphasized that the occupation deliberately prevents and obstructs the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, especially to northern areas such as Jabalia, exacerbating the catastrophic situation of civilians trapped amid siege and starvation. The Commission also warned of an impending humanitarian disaster as winter approaches, with hundreds of thousands of displaced people living in dilapidated tents and overcrowded shelters.
At the end of the conference, the International Commission (Hashd) called on the peoples of the world to intensify protests against the occupation’s crimes, urging international intervention to stop the Israeli aggression, compel the occupation to adhere to international humanitarian law, and open humanitarian corridors to evacuate the wounded and sick. It also called for the entry of essential aid, especially to the north, and the establishment of field hospitals and the provision of medical supplies across all areas of Gaza, along with ensuring international protection for civilians.
