“Children of Gaza in the Eye of the Storm”: The International “ICSPR” Organization Holds a Protest on Gaza Beach to Demand an End to Genocide and Famine

The International Organization for the Support of Palestinian Rights “ICSPR” today organized a field event on Gaza Beach, with the participation of a large number of children and human rights activists. They raised their voices to demand an end to the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip and condemned the brutal practices being inflicted on Palestinian children. The event saw many children holding up papers with their rightful demands, with the most repeated phrases being “My right to education,” “My right to health,” and “My right to live with dignity.”

The atmosphere at the event was emotionally charged, with children gathering in a large circle on the beach, raising their voices to demand a better life and a safer future. The message was strong, clear, and direct, calling on the world to take immediate action to stop the ongoing “genocide” being inflicted on children in Gaza.

The event was a cry from the children of Gaza, who are facing the worst humanitarian crises. According to reports issued by “ICSPR” Organization, more than 18,592 Palestinian children have been martyred due to the continuous Israeli aggression, reflecting the magnitude of the tragedy and the suffering that children in Gaza are enduring. The number of children who have been injured has exceeded 60,000, some of whom suffer from severe injuries that have led to permanent disabilities, threatening their entire future. These figures highlight the scale of the suffering faced by Palestinian children amidst the ongoing indiscriminate attacks.

Additionally, Palestinian children are enduring catastrophic humanitarian and health conditions. The International Organization confirmed that around 650,000 Palestinian children are deprived of adequate nutrition, with over 20,000 children being transferred to hospitals due to complications from hunger and malnutrition, which exacerbates the already deteriorating health situation. Concerning children under the age of five, statistics indicate that 300,000 children in Gaza are suffering from severe food shortages, along with 150,000 pregnant and lactating women who urgently need nutritional supplements to ensure their health and that of their children.

However, the crisis is not limited to hunger or physical injuries, as it also includes psychological damage affecting children in Gaza. Statistics show that more than one million children are suffering from collective psychological disorders as a result of the continuous trauma they have experienced. Their suffering includes severe depression and constant fear of death amidst ongoing bombardment and destruction surrounding them. On the other hand, reports indicate that 97% of women in Gaza have been subjected to psychological trauma due to the ongoing aggression, further intensifying the unprecedented psychological suffering.

In a special speech, human rights activist Rana Hdeib emphasized that what is happening in Gaza is a crime against humanity that the world cannot ignore. She added, “Children in Gaza are living under inhumane conditions, a war that makes no distinction between a child or an elder. We are here today to demand an end to this massacre, and we call on the international community to bear its responsibility toward these innocent children who have done nothing wrong except to be born in a land under occupation.”

“ICSPR” Organization pointed out that it will not stop documenting the violations committed against Palestinians but will continue to press the international community to provide urgent humanitarian support for children in Gaza. The organization also affirmed that it will continue organizing protest events and field activities worldwide to raise international awareness about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, urging governments and international organizations to take urgent measures to end this catastrophe.

In addition to the protests, the organization is coordinating with international humanitarian organizations to provide urgent medical and food assistance to the affected children in Gaza. The organization continues its global campaign to call on the United Nations to send international investigative missions regarding the grave violations faced by Palestinian children in Gaza, demanding justice for the children who have lost their lives and their families in this war.

“ICSPR” Organization’s Demands to the International Community:

  1. Immediate cessation of the aggression against the Gaza Strip: Urging the international community to act immediately to stop the genocide against Gaza that targets civilians, especially children and women, and the destruction of infrastructure.

  2. Opening safe humanitarian corridors: Ensuring the opening of humanitarian corridors to facilitate the urgent delivery of food and medical aid to all areas of the Gaza Strip, addressing the severe food and health needs of children and women.

  3. Providing international protection for Palestinian children: Calling on the United Nations and the international community to provide international protection for Palestinian children who are subjected to killing, mutilation, and forced displacement.

  4. International investigation into violations: Demanding a comprehensive international investigation into the violations committed against Palestinians in Gaza, including crimes against children and women, and holding the perpetrators accountable.

  5. Providing psychological support for children and women: Calling on the international community to provide immediate psychological support for Palestinian children suffering from psychological trauma due to the ongoing crisis, and to offer therapeutic programs for women who have been traumatized.

  6. Enhancing humanitarian programs for children in Gaza: The necessity of funding and supporting humanitarian programs dedicated to children in Gaza, which ensure the provision of education, healthcare, and food, preserving their basic rights to a dignified life.

  7. Taking responsibility for protecting civilians: Urging UN member states to take responsibility for protecting Palestinian civilians, including providing the necessary political and humanitarian support to stop the military actions directed at them.

  8. Commitment to implementing UN resolutions: Calling on major nations and international institutions to implement UN resolutions related to human rights and to end the occupation in Gaza in a peaceful manner that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people.
