ICSPR: Targeting Journalist Saed Nabhan Is a New War Crime That Requires Holding the Occupation Accountable

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) strongly condemns the deliberate killing of journalist Saed Nabhan, a cameraman for Al-Ghad TV, by Israeli occupation forces. He was targeted by an Israeli sniper while performing his duty, covering Israeli occupation crimes in the New Camp area of Nuseirat. This deliberate killing constitutes a heinous war crime against journalists protected under international humanitarian law and all human rights standards.

ICSPR expresses its solidarity with Al-Ghad TV for the loss of its second journalist during the ongoing genocide war, now entering its 16th consecutive month. ICSPR extends its condolences to the media community and the family of the martyr Sa’ed Nabhan. With his death, the number of journalists killed rises to 203. This underscores the occupation’s deliberate targeting of journalists to obstruct and prevent media coverage and documentation of Israeli crimes. It further reflects Israel’s intent to conceal facts and evidence.

ICSPR calls on the international community, the United Nations, and the International Federation of Journalists to take serious action to compel the Israeli occupation authorities to cease targeting journalists. It also urges the activation of mechanisms for boycotting the Israeli occupation, imposing sanctions, and ensuring the accountability of its leaders and soldiers for their crimes against journalists before international courts.

End.
