Urgent Humanitarian Appeal to the Free World

As The World Welcomes a New Year The Ongoing Genocide in Gaza and the Deprivation of Palestinians’ Human Rights is a Stain on Humanity

As the world welcomes a new year, the Palestinian people remain deprived of their basic rights amid an unprecedented escalation of Israeli crimes in Gaza and the West Bank. The year 2024 has witnessed the continuation of the genocide, resulting in a catastrophe and humanitarian tragedy driven by injustice, the law of the jungle, and exacerbated by glaring international failure and inaction. This has made 2024 one of the worst years in Palestinian history.

Tragic Numbers Reflecting the Genocide

Massacres:

  • The Israeli occupation has committed more than 9,905 massacres, including 7,160 massacres directly targeting Palestinian families, resulting in the martyrdom and disappearance of 60,000 people, including 17,712 children, 12,136 women, and 109,000 wounded.

Families Wiped Out Entirely:

  • 1,410 families have been erased from the civil registry, with 5,444 individuals martyred. Additionally, 3,463 families have lost all their members except for one survivor.

Crimes Against Humanitarian Staff:

  • 1,100 medical staff, 238 international organization workers, 201 journalists, 104 civil defense personnel, 709 police officers securing humanitarian aid, and 187 lawyers and human rights activists have been killed.

Widespread and Repeated Displacement:

  • Approximately 2 million citizens have been forcibly and repeatedly displaced, living under catastrophic humanitarian conditions in tents and shelters lacking essential services.
  • 35,060 children are living without one or both of their parents.

Comprehensive Destruction:

  • The occupation has destroyed 87% of homes, neighborhoods, camps, and facilities in Gaza, including 180,500 housing units completely destroyed and 193,000 partially damaged.
  • 34 hospitals and 80 health centers have been put out of service.
  • 345 schools and universities, 900 mosques, 3 churches, 213 government facilities, 206 historical and archaeological sites, and 1,600 civil society institutions, media offices, and community clubs have been destroyed.

Humanitarian Crisis:

  • Gaza’s population is facing severe famine and the spread of diseases and epidemics due to the obstruction and prevention of humanitarian aid and medical supplies.
  • 3,500 children are at risk of death due to malnutrition, and 350,000 chronic patients are endangered by the lack of medicine.

Escalation of Violations in the West Bank and Jerusalem

  • More than 860 Palestinians have been martyred, and 6,700 wounded due to field executions and raids on cities and camps in the West Bank.
  • Expansion of settlements, land annexation and confiscation, home demolitions, and violations of the sanctity of Islamic and Christian holy sites continue.
  • Systematic racial discrimination and arbitrary arrests persist, with 16,000 Palestinian detainees held in occupation prisons. 55 detainees have died due to torture, abuse, and deprivation of rights.

Holding the International Community Accountable

The International Commission “HICHR” holds the Israeli occupation and the United States of America responsible for the continuation of genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes, as a result of their ongoing support for the occupation with weapons and funding, and their political protection through repeated vetoes, alongside European colonial-background states.

The commission condemns the participation of foreign mercenaries from Western countries in crimes committed against the Palestinian people and denounces the international community’s shameful silence, inaction, and double standards. The commission calls on the international community to:

  1. Stop the Aggression: Take immediate action to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.
  2. Protect Civilians: Implement international protection mechanisms under the Geneva Conventions and the Genocide Convention.
  3. Hold the Occupation Accountable: Bring perpetrators to national and international courts, boycott Israel, and impose sanctions.
  4. Urgent Relief: Open humanitarian corridors to ensure the entry of food, medicine, water, tents, blankets, clothes, and other essential supplies to those under siege.

The International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR) urges the international community, the United Nations, and all free people worldwide to assume their moral and legal responsibilities to save Palestinian civilians’ lives by stopping the ongoing genocide and humanitarian catastrophe, supporting the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, and ending the Israeli occupation.
